Bree and Chantell must be mentioned whenever the topic of baecations comes up. They are not only our baecation inspiration since they combine love and adventure, but they are also this week's travel crush.
Tell us about yourselves! Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do? What inspires you to travel?
We are Bree and Chantell, and together we are @twogrlsoneworld. We are a wine-loving, nature-indulging, foodie couple who loves life and lives it well. We have been together for 7 years and married for 1 ½ year. We provide travel content to inspire our followers to live unapologetically through life experiences you can only obtain through traveling worldwide. Chantell hails from Donaldsonville, LA, and Bree from Sanford, FL. We like to consider ourselves to be travel inspirations, but by trade, Chantell is a Life Coach, and Bree is a Nurse Practitioner.
What are your travel styles and how do you blend the two?
Depending on the location, we can be both luxury and budget travelers. Most of the time, we can blend the two. For example, when traveling to certain countries, such as Santorini, Greece, it can be challenging to be a budget traveler considering the beautiful cliffside hotels and resorts they provide. During our visit, we opted to stay in an Airbnb, which tapped into our budget side. As far as experiences, we decided to participate in a photoshoot, taking a boat tour of the caldera, and wine tasting, which tapped into our luxury side. That’s what we think makes us so relatable. Luxury doesn’t always mean ‘high dollar.’ We love aesthetics and the way things make us feel. However, when we decide to go to Bora Bora, that will be luxurious all the way!
Omg, we would rather not travel without each other. We have tried to do so, and most times, it has failed. We end up missing each other a lot and find ourselves Facetiming and texting the entire trip. We are friends first with common interests, so we tend to appreciate the same things on our travels. We both enjoy food, wine, hiking, and cultural tours, just to name a few. We work well together under stress and have conquered many tough situations, such as missed flights and unplanned itinerary changes.
There was a time when we were headed to Hawaii for an 8-day cruise and missed our flight by a hair. We were already late arriving at the airport, and Bree had the bright idea to cram both our clothing into one suitcase. Our suitcase was 71 pounds, so we had to rearrange our items to make the 50-pound mark. Can you imagine the frustration, anxiety, and panic during that situation?! After resolving the suitcase dilemma, we were informed that we would not make our flight and could not check our bag. *sigh*
At that moment, you could see the panic on Bree’s face and in her breathing. Knowing how Bree can be in these situations, Chantell remained calm to prevent Bree from escalating and have a level head moving forward. Being in that situation alone or with someone else most likely would not have been as easy to work through. We both love each other very much, and it just so happens that we are very good photographers, too *wink, wink*
What are your top tips for ensuring relationships survive baecations?
First, make sure you and your partner are traveling for the right reasons. Some couples tend to travel as a form of gloating or to impress others and do not have a genuine desire to travel at all, which can lead to boredom. Communicating before and during baecations is important as well. You want to ensure that each person has their needs met during the trip and everything running smoothly. This also ensures that unwanted arguments do not surface and potentially ruin the trip.
Another tip is to make sure that you really know your person. For example, Bree knows that Chantell loves ziplining and riding ATVs, and Chantell knows that Bree loves wine and snorkeling. So, we make it a priority to incorporate those activities into the itinerary, if possible. We truly believe that a person’s love language and travel language go hand in hand.
Where is the best place to plan a baecation and why?
Choose a place that allows your relationship to get the intimacy it needs and allows you to have that much needed time alone. As for us, we prefer our baecations to be in tropical places, where we are surrounded by water and can have a drink nearby. When planning a baecation, we also consider excursion options that we both enjoy and can deliver those moments of intimacy, such as private dinners, night strolls on the beach, and soaking in hot tubs. If we had to pinpoint a place, we would suggest Chateau Elan in Braselton, GA, as the best place for a baecation. This winery resort provides couples with a romantic experience by offering a variety of amenities that can be tailored to enhance their stay.
Where else can folks find you?
Instagram is our primary platform @twogrlsoneworld, where we are most present. We also have a YouTube channel where we house previous travel vlogs. We are in the process of revamping and adding more content, so be on the lookout for that!
