Tell us about yourself! Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do? What inspires you to travel?
Known on Instagram as Globetrottercurls, my name is Chenise and I’m a communications specialist and professional dancer. Originally from central Florida, I now reside in Atlanta. Meeting new people and creating experiences for myself has always been the driving force behind why I travel.
Â
How many countries have you been to? Which was your favorite and why?
I’ve been to a total of 15 countries and my favorite country has been Greece because of the food, views, and things to do! The sunsets in Greece are out of this world and the food is extremely authentic and delicious.
Â
What is your go-to hairstyle for vacation? Are you a free fro or on lock locs kind of girl when traveling?
I’m definitely a free fro kind of girl when traveling however if I’ll be doing a lot of water activities at the location, I’ll opt for a protective style like braids.
Â
As a natural hair and travel content creator, what is your best travel tip or hack when it comes to caring for your hair?
I tell naturalistas who are traveling to always try to stick to a certain style when on vacation. You may not know the quality of water and amount of products available so the less amounts of times you manipulate your hair the better!
Â
Which destination have you been to that is the most curly-girl friendly? Why would you say it's curly-girl friendly?
Surprisingly, Germany specifically Karlsruhe has been one of the most curl-girl friendly places I’ve visited. I think I can credit it to the African population in the city because I was always able to find basic necessities for natural hair.
Where else can folks find you?
When I’m not on Instagram you can find my travel guides and tutorials on my YouTube and Pinterest at Globetrottercurls.
