We often ask our TCTs how they make frequent travel their realities, and we've gotten an array of answers from, traveling for work to work is traveling and all those in between. Even though the answers vary one element that is common amongst all answers is our TCTs prioritization of travel and intentionality.
Manifestation, meditation, prayer, whatever it is you do to focus your mind on your dreams, aspirations and goals can only be moved to action by intention. Our Newest TCT, Martine directs our attention to how intention can make your travel dreams a reality, and more.
Tell us about yourself! Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do? What inspires you to travel?
Hi! My name is Martine. I am an ER travel nurse and travel enthusiast. I am from Fort Lauderdale, FL born to Haitian parents. I remember as a child, my mom would travel with me to Haiti, and it gave me a chance to be immersed in the culture and really see and feel what life is like outside of the United States.
How many countries have you been to? Which was your favorite and why?
So far, I have been to 21 countries and have a trip planned soon, so I’m on the road to country #22. Jamaica is hands down my favorite country to visit! The island, the food, the music, the beaches are all vibes! I have been to Jamaica three times so far and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back!
How do you make frequent travel your reality? What is your advice to those that would like to make frequent travel their reality?
Traveling is a form of self-care for me, so I ensure I make time for it. Taking the time to go on a trip to a different country, allows me to experience life. My job requires me to give a lot of myself physically and mentally, so it feels good to go away, and refill my cup so I don’t continue pouring from an empty cup.
If you want to travel frequently: plan, make time for it, and budget accordingly. Be intentional about it! Traveling doesn’t have to be international; it can be to another state, it can be in your own state, it can be across town but at the end of the day BE INTENTIONAL!
What is your favorite thing to do while on vacation? Are you a hit every tourist destination kind of gal or are you a rest and relax kind of gal?
When I’m traveling, I am all about balance. I like to hit all the tourist attractions up and sightsee and take the time to just sit back and relax. I don’t want to go back home exhausted, so I take the time to rest but I also don’t want to sleep my vacation away either!
If you had a ticket to go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I haven’t been to the continent of Africa (yet), so if I had a ticket to go anywhere in this world, it would be to either Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, etc. I’ve traveled to many places around the world, so it will be nice to finally visit “The Motherland”.
