If you are anything like us, maybe your travel photos are comprised of awkward selfies, off-centered pics and terrible tourist takes. It can feel a bit like amateur hour in the photo department and though we all know being present on vacation is of the utmost importance, sometimes not being able to get that breathtaking photo to show for the gorgeous destinations you've been, can put a damper on the experience.
Not to worry, our newest TCT Sienna has got our backs with a few tips on how to get those travel pics influencer-worthy. She also shared with us, how she chooses her next travel destination, which destination should be at the top of your list, and her most memorable travel experience.
Tell us about yourself! Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do? What inspires you to travel?
I’m Sienna Christine and I’m a travel content creator based in New York. I travel to develop a more worldly perspective and to find new favorite places. Travel serves as the ultimate form of self-care for me. I am passionate about getting lost in beautiful destinations, trying different foods around the world, connecting with people and inspiring others to step out of their comfort zone.
You take the most beautiful pictures. What are your tips and tricks so we can up our insta game abroad?
Thank you so much! My best advice would be to invest in great equipment. If you are used to shooting with your phone, a DSLR camera can easily bring your content to the next level. I personally use a Nikon D3500. In addition, I love shooting with my DJI drone and Go Pro to capture unique shots. They allow your content to show a whole new perspective.
I get a lot of my destination inspiration from blogs and social media. Travel options are more limited than ever during this pandemic so I’ve been doing a lot of research about how different destinations are handling COVID. This has influenced my travel choices lately.
How many countries have you visited? Which country was your favorite and why?
I’ve visited 16 countries so far and Indonesia was my absolute favorite. The temples and amazing views are what originally attracted me to Bali but it was the friendliness of the people there that was so memorable. Overt kindness is so ingrained in the culture of the Balinese. It is visible in the way you are greeted when you enter any establishment and felt at all times while there.
What was your most memorable travel experience and what made it so memorable?
My most memorable travel experience was visiting Phang Nga Bay in Thailand. My best friend and I originally were visiting Thailand and planned to only stay in Bangkok while there. On a whim, we decided to book a flight to Phuket the next day. We kayaked through the sea caves at Phang Nga Bay, had a delicious buffet lunch and visited the James Band Island. The island views were breathtaking, and the water was so clear. I felt like I could live in that moment forever.
