Welcome to Travel Crush Tuesday!

Meet Re - the content creator of Life of Re H.C. This gorgeous traveler is from the Bahamas. Her passions include both travel and beauty. She loves engaging with her audience and sharing her life experiences and favorite products on her blog and Youtube channel.

Keep reading to discover more about Re and her island adventures.

Describe the most memorable trip you've been on? What made it special?

Cancun, Mexico! That was my first time ziplining and I had so much fun flying through the air. Mexican food happens to be one of my favorite cuisines, so I ate like a queen every day! It was truly an experience of a lifetime and what made it even more special was experiencing it with my boyfriend. There’s so much more to see around the world, but a trip back to Mexico is a must for us.

How would you describe your travel style?

My travel style, in terms of fashion, is ‘comfort-casual’. I love exploring new cities and cultures and a good pair of sneakers is essential for that. Also, I need sunglasses — they just make everything look effortless, which I love.

My travel style, in terms of the way I travel, is definitely ‘budgeted-boujee’. I work hard in my day-to-day life, so when I’m traveling I enjoy feeling pampered and relaxed some days. A trip to the spa or a chill day by the water usually does the trick. Once it’s worth the money, I don’t mind the splurge.

What has traveling taught you?

Traveling has taught me to be more grateful and to cherish every moment like it’s your last. Coming from The Bahamas where tourism is the #1 industry, it’s easy to take things for granted and overlook the minor details that make an area special. Traveling has changed my perspective in that I’ve learned not only to value the beauty and diversity of other countries but to better appreciate the country I was born and raised in.

Travel has also granted me the opportunity to deep dive into someone else’s culture for a short period. There are so many countries that I’ve fallen in love with during my trips - the people, the language, the food. Moreover, I’ve gained life lessons that I couldn’t have experienced through social media or a book or magazine. For example, I didn’t know about the huge Afro-Latino community that existed in Brazil until I lived there for a month and got mistaken for a Brazilian. Had I not traveled to Barbados and Antigua, I wouldn’t know how mountainous and unique these Caribbean countries are in comparison to my home. Our differences and similarities are what bring us together as people and I love partaking in that experience.

I’ve been traveling since I was six weeks old so it’s something that I hold very dear to me. It has shaped me into who I am today and I’ve learned so much more...but I’ll end it here. :)

What's a motto you live by?

Life is too short to live in fear so have some faith and create a life that you love.

What's the #1 item you gotta bring along in your carry-on?

Sunscreen! The sun follows me wherever I go so I need to stay well guarded.

What's your secret for looking so good on the go?

Beauty comes from within and when you’re happy, you glow differently. That’s my real secret - be happy. What makes me happy is my commitment to live an authentic and unapologetic life. When I’m traveling, I’m usually setting my own schedule and that energizes me to be my true self and make the most out of each day. It’s not always easy but it’s definitely worth it. When you feel good on the inside, you look even better on the outside.

Aside from that, a nice lip gloss or lip oil and some mascara make everything look more intentional.
