What was your experience like the first time you traveled solo?
The first time I traveled Solo was to Cancun Mexico. I was excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because it was Mexico! Beautiful people, Beautiful beaches, and colorful food. New adventures and a new experience for me... a new chapter in my book of life. But, I was nervous not knowing what to expect. Would I be able to navigate a Spanish speaking country by myself?...I prayed about it. Asking God to release any negative energy living inside of my mind... I asked God to cover me from any hurt, Harm, and danger lurking far and near. I asked God to increase my discernment. If my intuition didn’t feel right, or if I couldn’t pass a positive judgement on something, it was time for me to leave that situation. Once I prayed my prayer, I felt relieved. Waking up to a beautiful Skyline was everything ... It was an unexplainable feeling... I cried... I knew God existed from the way the sun smiled at me...and Everything there-after was beautiful.... The people were friendly at my hotel, in the restaurants and every kiosk I visited. Even the Chauffeur, greeted me every morning... “Buenos dìas hermosa señorita!” ...I met different people from different countries who were easy to talk to and didn’t mind sharing our travel experience together... I had a wonderful solo trip and I’ll never forget it...
What’s your favorite travel hack?
My favorite travel hacks are to pack light!... I never pack more than two pair of pants, always something light, like sundresses and and tank tops. Why? Because when Your suitcase is heavy you pay more at the airport. If you have to travel long distances it’s bad on your back. Traveling Light allows you skip the hassle of waiting long periods of time at the ramp. You also don’t have to pay extra cash on suitcase when it’s free to take a carry-on, on the plane.
I live for a beat face! LOL! So I always keeps a compact case of powder foundation to keep my face free from sweat. And I always go matte for makeup finish. Why? Because I hate looking sweaty in photos. I use my experience to sell beauty of different locations. I have oil skin so I practice staying dry. When I travel to really hot terrain I try to go light on the makeup anyway. I don’t want to be dripping in my pictures... lol
What has been something that has surprised you when traveling the world?
One thing that has surprised me traveling the world is the color of the sky in the morning or night. I went to China and the sky was purple on one side of the plane and turquoise on the other side. Every country adds its own beauty! The people in other countries have been really caring and helpful. They could see I was from another country as I was asking questions, and made sure I found my way around. It’s always important to learn your surroundings in case you come back to the same area.
What would you say is one of the most under-rated places to visit? What do you love most about it?
Africa is the most underrated place to go. People are waking up now. But before people thought that Africa was full of malnutrition babies and diseases. When in fact, it contains some of the richest countries in the world... full of beautiful people and rich food. When I traveled to Egypt it was one of the most surreal moments I've ever had. Gold all over the walls and floors of the pyramids. Midnight shows every night. Beautiful pictures...wonderful experience.
